There is no denying the weather has begun to change. Whilst we are still seeing sunshine, we are getting darker mornings and evenings and it’s not quite as warm as it was. If you look around you the leaves are changing and beginning to fall and with the season change our tastes change in what it is that we want to eat and enjoy.
It is now the time of sumptuous family meals, one pot wonders and everything that goes with them. So, we thought we’d do a collection of recipes for you to try at home for you and your family to enjoy.
A traditional Lebanese dish of baked chicken and potatoes, which I learned from my mum. Unbelievably simple, but ever so delicious.
A luscious tomato broth, green beans, mushrooms (so versatile you can add what you like–potatoes, peas, have at it!) . . . this is Lebanese comfort food at its best.
Make our easy shakshuka for a comforting brunch. Vary this dish by flavouring the simple tomato sauce with whatever you have to hand – curry powder, pesto or fresh herbs
Chocolate glazed pumpkin cake is so moist and delicious, it’ll get even the most sceptical pumpkin-spice eaters (like me)! Make the pumpkin cake as mini-bundts for extra pizazz, but it’s great as a big (10-inch) bundt too.
This is a wonderful Middle Eastern dish that I was introduced to by a friend of mine from Lebanon. This recipe yields an absolutely amazing tasting and tender final product. Shawarma can be used in pitas, be put on fattoush, on hommus, or eaten plain.
